
P.C. Verrone is an Afro-Native writer of Osage and Kiowa descent. His plays include the Native horror-comedy Bad Medicine, the Peter Pan reimagining Crocodile Day (Playscripts, 2023),and The Forester, an exploration of Afro-Native forester Carroll B. Williams, Jr.’s life. His debut novel Rabbit, Fox, Tar was published in June 2026. His short fiction and poetry have appeared in FIYAH, PodCastle, Nightmare, and numerous anthologies, including Never Whistle at Night II: Back for Blood. His theatrical work has been developed with AlterTheater, The Blank, Center Theater Group, Custom Made Theatre, Ensemble Studio Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, National New Play Network, Native Voices, Primary Stages, and Urbanite Theatre.
His awards include the 2024 Otherwise Award, 2021 Bridport Prize in Flash Fiction, and winning the adult fiction category of the inaugural Black Creatives Revision Workshop. He was a finalist for the Venturous Fellowship, American Blues Theatre’s Blue Ink Award, YIPAP Young Storytellers Competition, Princess Grace Award, and B Street Theater’s New Comedies Festival, and semifinalist for the Eugene O’Neill National Playwrights Conference. His fellowships and residencies include the Tin House Residency, 2021-22 Many Voices Fellowship (Playwrights’ Center), Generation Now Fellowship (Children’s Theatre Company/Mellon Foundation), and a 2025 Fellowship from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. He graduated from Harvard College and holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Rutgers University—Newark.
He currently lives in Dallas with his husband and their dog, Apollo.
